What is Sub Hero?

Sub Hero is a job alert and auto-booking service for substitute teachers whose districts use Frontline Absence Management. It watches your Frontline account around the clock, alerts you the moment a job matching your filters is posted, and can automatically accept the jobs you have told it to take.

Does Sub Hero work with Frontline Absence Management?

Yes. Sub Hero is built specifically for substitute teachers who get their assignments through Frontline Absence Management (formerly Aesop). If your district posts sub jobs in Frontline, Sub Hero works for you. Sub Hero is an independent product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Frontline Education.

How is Sub Hero faster than checking Frontline myself?

Sub Hero checks your Frontline account every minute, day and night, and notifies you within seconds of a matching job appearing. The best jobs are often claimed within a minute of posting, so the gap between a job appearing and a human noticing it usually decides who gets it. With auto-accept enabled, Sub Hero can book a matching job within seconds — without waiting for you to look at your phone.

Is it safe to give Sub Hero my Frontline login?

Your Frontline credentials are encrypted with AWS Key Management Service and are used only to check for jobs on your behalf and to book jobs you have approved through your filters. Sub Hero never posts, messages anyone, or changes anything in your Frontline profile. You can disconnect your account or delete it entirely at any time from Settings, which removes your stored credentials.

What does Sub Hero cost?

Creating an account is free and requires no credit card. Paid plans:

• Standard — $6.99/month: instant job alerts by email and push notification, one-click booking, and precision job filters.
• Pro — $9.99/month: everything in Standard, plus auto-accept filters and up to 5 automatic job acceptances per month.

Both paid plans include a 14-day free trial.

What is auto-accept, and how much control do I have?

Auto-accept books a job for you automatically when it matches rules you define — specific schools, positions, day of week, start time, job length, and so on. Three things keep you in control: it only ever acts on filters you set, it only considers jobs that already passed your notification filter, and it is capped at 5 acceptances per month on Pro. Before you switch it on, Sub Hero shows you exactly which of your recent jobs the filter would have tried to book.

Which districts and states does Sub Hero support?

Any district using Frontline Absence Management, anywhere in the United States. If you are registered with several districts, charter networks, or a staffing agency under one Frontline login, jobs from all of them appear together.

Do I need to install an app?

No. Sub Hero runs in your web browser and can be added to your home screen on both iPhone and Android as a progressive web app. There is also an Android app. Alerts arrive by email and push notification.

How do I cancel?

Cancel any time from the billing section inside the app. Your plan stays active through the period you already paid for, and you can delete your account and stored credentials entirely whenever you like.
